Solar Powered Light

10/28/2014

I wish I had this the other weekend when I went camping and realized how I should have brought a lantern or something.  This LuminAID Solar Light is of course, solar powered, and is inflatable and waterproof.  Packs flat and is ultra-portable.  This thing provides up to 15 hours of LED light and is easily rechargeable in the sun.  It might not be the prettiest item (you are taking this out in the wilderness, so does it really need to be that visually pleasing?), but for its utility and the 'unique-factor' of it, this will be a memorable [and used] item for sure.
(What also works is shining a light on a gallon jug of water, for example: leaning my iPhone flashlight onto the jug ... it turns the jug of water into a lantern. I'd way rather have this though!)

KOR ONE Water Bottle

This is a beautiful water bottle and what's special about it is that you can insert "stones" (a printed piece made from one of my favorites - stone paper!) within the cap, so a message shows when you open the bottle.  It looks a lot like glass but is made from BPA-free Eastman Tritan, has a soft rubber/cushioned base that protects furniture and prevents slips, and has a hygienic spout where the cap protects the spout from outside germs when not in use. The ergonomic handle makes this easy and comfortable to carry around and the spout feels really great on your lips (weird to say but it's true - it's threadless and smooth).  Other KOR water bottles are also available - Aura, Delta, Nava (has a built-in filter), Vida.

Tune Cube Bluetooth NFC Speaker

Bluetooth and NFC capable speaker (Near Field Communication. I would rejoice and say that finally the new iPhones have this capability, but for now it can only be used for Apple Pay. C'mon Apple, I really want to pair my future iPhone to this speaker!).  Very cool, retro-looking and I absolutely love the handle, it makes this nice and easy to carry.

It comes in a matching plastic case and is available in lime green and black.  Your two imprint options are on the front of the case and/or on the handle of the speaker.  It also comes with an audio cable so you can connect an audio device directly to it.

Fleece zip-up onesie for adults basically, made of 9.8 oz 100% polyester fleece.  It comes in black, royal blue, red, and fuschia.  Unisex sizing - XS-XL available.   Embroidery would be best on this because of the fleece material.

It's beginning to smell a lot like Christmas ....

Scented 3M Post-Its are available for this holiday season.  The scent is located on the adhesive side of the Post-It and the scent will slowly decrease over time.  You have four choices:  Cinnamon Apple Pie, Holiday Wreath, Peppermint, Vanilla Gingerbread.

So why give something that's scented?  It really comes down to science: Our smell receptors send information to the olfactory bulb, which is part of the brain's limbic system; the limbic system controls memory and emotions, while our other senses (hearing, vision, taste and feeling) send information to the right side of our brain, the cognitive center.  What I'm trying to say that the sense of smell is the only sense that causes an immediate [sub-conscious] emotional reaction, so to be able to hit that sense of smell can cause (hopefully) a delightful reaction and fond memory for the recipient (smell = memories).  Happy Holidays!
